We all have our favorite ice cream flavors or flavor! But what can most Americans agree on? Apparently it’s Butter Pecan Ice Cream!

YouGov.com has conducted studies based on ice cream preferences of over 1,000 adults. The survey results were shocking to say the least. The top flavor preference was chocolate, followed closely by vanilla. Last but definitely not least was Butter Pecan! The study also revealed that people ages 55 and up were likely to have the preference of butter pecan ice cream.

Origins

Butter Pecan was created primarily through butter, milk and pecans. The name originated from the short ingredient list and primary flavors. Generally, the Chinese are credited for creating the first versions of ice cream, however this particular flavor has become popularized over the years especially in the southern region of the US. This flavor profile grew over the years and developed into what it is recognized as today!
